Hey, everyone. I have been posting about different ways to make an extra income and, of course, Uber Driver came across my radar. I decided to sign up and see what all the hype was about and see if it really is a good way to make extra income. Well let me tell you, not only can you make an extra income doing this, but you can also make a living. So after doing a dozen rides and calculating my time per income, I realized that I was making roughly $30/hour just giving people a ride. If that doesn't sound like a decent way to live, you may just have an expensive lifestyle.
In this article I am gonna tell you all I know about my experiences: the good and the bad. If you already feel like this is something for you, you can sign up now through this link and you will receive $90 after your first 15 rides.
The good thing about being an Uber Driver
Well of course making an extra $30/hour is always a good thing in my book. I have found a lot of different ways to make an extra income and this is definitely one that works. I would wake up in the morning, drink my coffee, eat some breakfast, activate the Uber Partner app and just wait for a ping and off I go.
Uber driver offers a few different ways to get paid. You can get the money direct deposited right into your bank account, once a week. In addition, you can use the instant pay feature where you can put your debit card number in and get instantly paid if you wanted your money right then and there like it were a tip or something. Of course, every time you do this, they charge your $0.50 cents. On the same hand, they offer a Uber Driver debit card from GoBank that doesn't charge anything. I usually just waited for the money to build up and get a bigger lump sum every week. You, also, see what you earned from each trip you take. If the money just isn't enough, keep reading.

Uber has a rating system that is for each driver and rider. After each ride you can rate your rider on a 1-5 star system and your rider can rate you as well. Doing a great job for the rider will get you good star ratings. Uber also keeps track of any rider compliments and any rider feedback. It will show your requests accepted percentage as well as your trips cancelled percentage. Make sure you don't cancel any trips, unless you really have to. Otherwise, you will get this percentage high and not look like a good driver.
I have found being an Uber driver is very easy and convenient. You just use your smart phone to open the app where you do everything from managing your account and viewing your records to accepting rides and collecting your earnings. Uber is constantly expanding into new areas. Sign up and see if its in your area and get started making some good extra income or even full time income. I know a few people who are doing it full time, in and around major cities and making a lot of money.
The bad thing about being an Uber Driver
I haven't got much to say about this. Of course you really don't know who you are picking up. They may be some super hot girl or maybe a really dirty stinky person. I know you have to agree to pick up people who have service dogs even if you are terrified or do not generally like dogs or animals. Especially, being in your car.
Wear and Tear
You use your own vehicle, so you are wearing down the tires, putting miles on your personal vehicle, generally wearing it down. If your vehicle is not in the best shape, you should probably decide not to be an Uber Driver. Although, you can claim your mileage on your income taxes.
If you aren't living in or near a major city, the actual rider time might not be that great and then it really is just a little extra income on the side. All and all, you are still making some money doing it if it's in your city.
That's really all I can say about the bad.
